I saw this picture today on facebook. It has messed with me. I wonder which man I am today? I think at various times I’ve been both.
At times, I ferociously am attacking the boulders in my life. I am pounding away at the obstacles in my life in the catacombs of prayer. I am seeking God. I’m going for it. I’m attacking it with all I’ve got. I am NEVER going to give up!
But how quickly it can all turn. Suddenly I begin to wonder if I am ever going to find the prize. I get discouraged and wonder what is the use. Then I give up – never realizing the goal. Never obtaining the prize. Never reaching the victory. Never seeing the answers to the prayers prayed.
Galatians 6:8 states “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
I think this is very pertinent for intercessors. You pray. You fast. You seek God. You pour yourself out – body, soul, spirit. You give in the secret place of prayer day after day believing the breakthrough is coming, but often you wait alone for the answer month by month. Many times no one else but God knows what you have prayed or sought. You can wonder if it will really come to pass. It is easy to slip from the place of faith in prayer to the place of fear with each dark night of the soul.
But the God you are seeking in private is going to bring out the promise in the light of day. The answers will come. The new day will dawn. The miracles will be manifest – just don’t lose heart! Don’t be discouraged that you haven’t seen it come to pass yet. Let faith arise! Let hope come alive again in your heart!

Lamentations 3:21-25 reminds us that even the prophet Jeremiah would have given up hope if he hadn’t brought to mind that the Lord’s mercies are new every day and that He is faithful! Oh friend, don’t forget the faithfulness of God. If He called you to this and birthed the prayers in you, He will bring the manifestation of those intercessions to life! There will be a day!!!!! It will come to pass!!! God is faithful to His words!
Anyone struggling today? Are you weary out there? I pray this is a rope of hope to you to help you out of your pit of despair. Grab hold! Don’t give up! You are so close!!!!!! Keep pressing on!
