Saturday during our morning prayer Pastor Mike challenged us to know what we are asking God for. It is a time to be specific with Him. Where do you desire a reset? Where does God desire a reset in your life? We need to know and be specific.
Is it your marriage? Your work? Your church? Your ministry? Your finances? Your health? Your relationships? Your devotional life? Overcoming an addition or habit?
Get specific in your prayer. This is time to seek the Lord. It is a time to seek the doorways He has already prepared and opened before you. Be open to ask the Lord where does He want to reset you. He might have an even better plan that we can imagine!
God is doing a NEW THING! Isaiah 43:18,19 “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
God is longing to do a new thing in your life. He is making the way! This isn’t the same as yesterday. It is new! It won’t look like the past or feel like the past. We must be open to the NEW He is bringing.
Oftentimes we don’t recognize the new things God is doing because they don’t come like we thought they would. Take for example, when Christ came to earth, most missed that their Messiah was walking among them. They didn’t recognize Jesus because He didn’t fit their design. Their long awaited Savior was standing in front of them and they crucified Him.
God is not going to reset you according to your design. He is the Master Builder and He will create a masterpiece in you! “Do you not perceive it?” He is a Creator. He took dust from the earth and created man then breathed His life in him. He can do anything! He makes all things NEW!
Take some time today to re-read the City Point Word for 2018 and seek the Lord for His reset. Ask Him His plans and tell Him your desires. Take time to pause and listen to Him.
Prayer for Today: Oh, Lord, open our eyes to see your handiwork all around us. Lord, we know that you are moving. We know that are working on our behalf to reset our lives according to your plans. Please give us eyes of faith to see what and where you are moving that we might join you in it. We welcome the new thing you have for us today!
City Point Word for 2018
Whether you recognize it or not, the seeds for your glorious future have already been sown. Your various life experiences, relationships, even your mistakes have all contributed to fertilize those seeds of purpose. God’s route to your glorious future relies on His unique sense of direction, not the logical, straightforward route you might envision.
The doorway to your glorious future is open already, waiting for you to step up and walk through it. If you’re frustrated by unrealized dreams and ongoing disappointments, ask God to give you a reset. Ask for the one thing (priority) to keep you moving forward.
Always believe the best for the future. If you view the future through regret, the past, disappointments or hurt, then you will lose sight of God’s goodness. All you have to do is live long enough, and you realize that life can be painful. But no matter what you’re facing or what’s going on around you, you must believe the best for the future, in Jesus’ name.
God has given you his Word on your future: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you…thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer. 29:11). If you believe God is who He says He is, then you must also know that through it all, a glorious future that will surprise you and fulfill your deepest longings awaits you; a future that will reflect God’s goodness and power, his glory and grace.
Stay on this path, my friend. Follow Jesus, and God will crown you with His goodness. You have an amazing inheritance in Jesus’ name, a mountain to summit and a path to pioneer. You have a faith lane that is all your own, a grace zone that is waiting for you to occupy. The difficult path and shame of your past is no match for his name, for His healing power, and His holy calling. Your unique gifts are tailored perfectly to outwork His purpose in this generation and your wide-open, spacious, God-ordained life is waiting for you to jump right in! Live, love, and lead like Jesus and your life on earth and in Heaven will reflect the ongoing glory of God—in all things!
There is no doubt—your best is yet to come!
